The United Arab Emirates (UAE) Minister of State, Lana Nusseibeh, has issued a strong call to European nations, emphasizing the necessity of preventing Iran from jeopardizing the global economy. In a recent interview with Euronews, Nusseibeh articulated the critical link between regional stability and the economic and security interests of Europe.
Nusseibeh highlighted the escalating tensions in the Middle East, arguing that the current geopolitical climate poses significant risks not only to local nations but also to the broader global market. She urged European governments to adopt a proactive stance in addressing these challenges, stressing that inaction could lead to detrimental effects on international trade and economic stability.
According to the minister, the UAE is committed to maintaining regional stability and fostering constructive dialogue among nations. She pointed out that the security of Europe is intrinsically tied to the stability of the Middle East, especially in light of Iran’s role in regional conflicts and its influence over various militant groups.
“The stability of our region is vital for Europe’s economic health,” Nusseibeh stated during the interview. “It is essential that European leaders recognize the interconnectedness of our challenges and work collaboratively to mitigate any threats posed by Iran.”
The UAE’s position reflects a growing concern among Gulf states regarding Iran’s nuclear ambitions and its potential to destabilize the region further. Nusseibeh called for a unified approach among European nations to address these threats and safeguard both regional and global economic interests. She emphasized that a collective effort is crucial to ensure that Iran cannot leverage its geopolitical position to hold the global economy hostage.
Looking ahead, Nusseibeh expressed hope for more robust partnerships between the UAE and European countries, aimed at reinforcing economic ties and enhancing security cooperation. Her statements serve as a reminder of the pressing need for diplomatic engagement and strategic alignment in facing shared challenges.
